STATSGO Derived Soil Class

This data layer was produced by extracting soil class attributes from the NRCS - STATSGO data layers for the 11 western states. Map types represent most prevalent soil class for each polygon. Polygons colored white in this graphic representation have no dominant soil class designation. There may be, however, subdominant types. Other attributes in this database include the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th most prevalent soil class per polygon and their respective frequency of occurence represented by percentages.
